The three-day event of “Tribal Vachikotsav 2023”
will be held subject-wise from May 25.

With the aim of preserving, promoting and recording the oral tradition related to tribal life, a three-day “Tribal Vachikotsav 2023” is being organized from May 25 at the Tribal Research and Training Institute (JTP) located in Nava Raipur. “Tribal Vachikotsav 2023” will be inaugurated on May 25 under the chairmanship of Minister Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chief Hospitality and Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Dwarkadhish Yadav. This three-day event will run from May 25 to May 27, in which tribal speakers from different regions of the state will give their presentation under different genres of tribal vocal tradition. This event is being organized by the Tribal Research and Training Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and the State Government.
According to the theme of the three-day program of the Tribal Vachikotsav, on the first day, on May 25, tribal recitation will be done on the subject of oral knowledge, folk stories, proverbs and sayings prevalent in the tribes, tribal folk songs, their meaning and meaning in relation to tribal deities and Madai Mela. . On the second day, May 26, tribal recitation will be held on the topic of “Tribal Teej-festival and oral tradition, oral tradition related to tribal life rites (birth, marriage, death etc.) and belief and oral tradition related to the origin of tribal community.” On the last day, 27th May, oral knowledge related to the concept of gotra system and gotra symbols in the tribal community, specific traditions prevailing in the tribes (Godna, Lal Bangla, Ghotul, Dhankul, Jagar, Jatra, Dhumkuria etc.) customs and traditional knowledge and beliefs. Tribal reading will be done on the theme.
According to the information received from the officials of the department, tribal intellectuals have started reaching Raipur from different districts to participate in the programme. Everyone is likely to reach by late evening. In this regard, arrangements have been made by forming different teams of officers as per the instructions of Commissioner cum Director, JTP Mrs. Shammi Abidi to maintain all kinds of proper arrangements.
After this three-day event, a book will also be published by the institute with a view to preserving and recording the tribal oral tradition, in which along with the topics presented in the program, people from other tribal communities of the state will also get information in the field of tribal oral tradition. Articles have been invited for publication. It is worth mentioning that the entire event was organized by T.R.T.I. It will be held in the newly constructed building of the institute.
