The meeting of the cabinet sub-committee formed under the chairmanship of Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat to review the policy of paddy procurement and custom milling on support price in the upcoming Kharif marketing year 2023-2024 will be held on September 09. This meeting has been called from 11 am in MLA Colony, Surguja cottage of Puraina Raipur.
Cooperative and Panchayat Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Tamradhaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar and Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel will be members of the cabinet sub-committee meeting.
It is noteworthy that the state government has set an estimated target of purchasing 125 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the registered farmers of the state in the upcoming Kharif marketing year 2023-24. It is noteworthy that due to the farmer-friendly policies and decisions of the state government, there has been a continuous increase in the number and area of farmers in the last four years. Agricultural production has also increased rapidly. On the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, due to procurement of paddy as well as lifting of paddy, the execution of paddy has been completed easily.
