Raipur, 13 July 2021. On the occasion of its foundation day, Chhattisgarh Science Center organized a national webinar to inspire the youth in the direction of innovation and creativity. Enlightened people including school students and teachers actively participated in the webinar. It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center has the distinction of being the first Science Center in the state, which was established on 13th July 2012 by the Union Ministry of Culture. Since its inception, the Science Center is trying to bring interest and awareness towards science among the students, teachers and general public of the state. Along with this, on the days of national and international importance related to science, we are also making people aware of science by giving lectures to the subject-experts of the country and the state.
Adviser to Science City Dehradun and former Director General of Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture Shri G.S. Rautela said that science and technology is a part of our life. We study, learn about science and technology in school, college and university, but in reality, we get knowledge of the basic principles, technology and skills of science by observing and analyzing the events happening in our surrounding environment. . He said that science centers have an important role to play in developing public awareness about contemporary research and in creating interest in science among common citizens. The main objective of the Science Center is to solve the scientific thinking, curiosities and doubts of the people through non-formal education of science.
Shri Rautela said that in the age of technology and knowledge, science occupies an important place. After a lot of development in the field of information and communication technology, today the world is passing through a period of unprecedented and insurmountable changes. The achievement of any state, country and its people can be determined efficiently in new technology. We need to learn new skills and adapt ourselves to technological innovation.
Director General of Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center, Raipur, Mr. Mudit Kumar Singh informed in the virtual program that along with encouraging scientific faculty in the society, rational scientific thinking is being developed in them through Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center. In addition to developing the process of learning by doing new discoveries and experimental activities, science, technology, energy and the relationship of human life with the environment are being encouraged through models. He said that with the help of local institutions and schools, latest scientific and technical inventions are also being showcased. Along with the operation of Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center, a Science Center (Category-3) is being set up at Raigarh at a cost of Rs. 3 crore 57 lakh to develop it into an innovation hub. The webinar program was conducted by Dr. Chhanda Banerjee. On this occasion, officers and employees of Regional Science Center also participated in the program through webinar.
