Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, while reacting to the interim budget of the Central Government for the year 2024-25 presented in the Parliament today, said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for a fully developed India by the year 2047. This budget will prove to be a milestone in realizing this call.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the budget presented by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman focuses on the empowerment of the poor, women, youth and farmers. The people of the country have seen that our Central Government has paved the way for the all-round development of the country and progress of the people in these 10 years. In the last 10 years, success has been achieved in bringing 25 crore poor people out of multidimensional poverty. 1 crore 40 lakh youth have been given training in employment oriented works. The economic condition of the people has strengthened during this period, as a result of which the average real income of Indians has increased by 50 percent in these years.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this budget is historic in the direction of fulfilling the guarantees given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of the country. This budget will strengthen the country’s economy. This budget will prove to promote inclusive development of the country and provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth.
He said that in this budget, special initiatives have been taken for special backward tribes. This budget will further accelerate the development of infrastructure in the country and will be helpful in achieving the goals of social justice, increase in the income of villagers and development of all. There has been no change in the rates of direct and indirect taxes and import duty in the budget. A provision of interest-free loan of Rs 75,000 crore has been made in this budget for the development of states. The target of making 2 crore Lakhpati Didis has been increased to 3 crore Lakhpati Didis. The decision to increase the scope of Lakhpati Didi Yojana will further empower women power.
It is the result of government policies that foreign investment has also increased positively. The decision to provide tax exemption for one year to startups will encourage youth entrepreneurship.
In the budget, 300 units of free electricity will be provided to 1 crore solar panel users under the rooftop solar project, special housing scheme for middle class families living in rented houses, slums and chawls as well as under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the next 5 years. A target of construction of 2 crore new houses has been set. Provision has been made in the interim budget to include all Asha and Anganwadi workers under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat scheme and promote the use of Nano-DAP in various crops. Vaccination of girls aged 9-14 years will now be started to prevent cervical cancer.
The Chief Minister said that a provision has been made in the budget to expand the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana. This will provide employment to 55 lakh people. Similarly, provision for setting up 5 integrated aqua parks has also been made in the interim budget. The Center has set a target of doubling the number of airports in the next 10 years. Apart from Raipur in Chhattisgarh, airports are functional in Jagdalpur and Bilaspur. Soon other airports will also become operational.
