Women preparing attractive rakhis in Ripa Raipur

On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, the rakhis of sisters of self-help groups will be adorned once again on the wrists of brothers. Women of self-help groups are preparing rakhis in large numbers in Gothans of the state. According to tradition, other things like molly-thread, pearls are being used in rakhis. Apart from being attractive, these rakhis are also a symbol of love between brothers and sisters.
Colorful rakhis are also being made by women self-help groups in Kabirdham district of the state, for which there is a good demand in the market. Mahalakshmi women self-help group of Village Mainpura, Gram Panchayat Mazgaon’s Kusum Mahila Gram Sangathan and other groups are earning good income from the rakhis being prepared by these groups. So far, rakhis worth about 15 to 20 thousand rupees have been sold. Rakhis are very much liked by the people and are being sold in abundance.
It is worth mentioning that in the RIPA started in Kabirdham district, new economic activities are being started to connect the villagers with new means of livelihood. In this episode, rakhis are being prepared by women groups.
