Raipur, 9 February 2022. Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma performed Bhoomipujan of bridge construction work on Phool river at village Pedaras in Chhindgarh block of Sukma district today. On this occasion, he also announced the construction of a bridge at Pusgunna.
It is noteworthy that the construction of a 96 meter long bridge on the Phool river at a cost of Rs 5.45 crore will facilitate the movement of Pedaras to Dolores road. Minister Shri Lakhma performed Bhoomi Pujan along with the bridge construction work on the Phool river bank and also the approach road construction work. The construction of the bridge at Pedaras will facilitate the movement of 10130 villagers of 14 villages including Kukanar, Kumharras, Doleras, Gurbai, Mahima, Malwar, Katulmari, Homaras, Chuleras, Jangampal, Kundanpal, Pandawar and Hamirgarh. During this, Chitrakot MLA Shri Rajman Benjam, Sukma District Panchayat President Shri Harish Kawasi, District Panchayat member Smt. Phuleshwari Baghel, Chhindgarh Janpad Panchayat President Smt. Devli Bai Nag, Pedaras Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Shri Hungaram Banjami, District members, public representatives and a large number of villagers Be present.
Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma said on this occasion that development of roads, bridges and culverts is our priority in the development of rural areas. Which is being completed promptly by the state government. He said that earlier there was no road here, even cycling was difficult. But today there are paved roads, police, security force camps have also been set up for the safety of the villagers. The development taking place in the area has increased the confidence of the villagers in the administration and the security forces. He said that the construction of about 20 km long road in the Kukanar area has made it easier for the residents of the area. The villagers now move easily without any fear. Soon, efforts will also be made to give Kukanar the status of sub-tehsil and to make a sports ground.
Minister Shri Lakhma said that Bastar region could not progress in other dimensions including education, health due to lack of development of roads, bridges and culverts. But under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the image of entire Bastar including Sukma has changed. Many schemes are being run for the tribal villagers including destitute pension, old age pension, landless agricultural laborer justice scheme, due to which the tribal area is progressing. Along with this, the government is also working continuously for the empowerment of Panchayati Raj. Chitrakot MLA Shri Rajman Benzam also addressed the gathering on this occasion. He announced to provide Rs 2 lakh from MLA fund for the construction of temple at Pedaras.
