Meeting of the governing committee of Chhattisgarh Biotechnology Promotion Society concludes
Raipur, 25 March 2021. Agriculture Minister of Chhattisgarh Ravindra Choubey said that the Biotech Incubation Center of Chhattisgarh will have an important role in further promoting biotechnology in the state. He said that the BIC will expand the integrated plans and programs for biotechnology and will lead to the development of related industries. The Minister of Agriculture Choubey expressed the views of the annexation while presiding over the meeting of the governing committee of Chhattisgarh Biotechnology Promotion Society held at Seed Corporation office in Raipur here today. He instructed the officials of Agriculture Department, University of Agriculture, Hearty Culture and Biotech Society to work for the BIC Center in all mutual coordination, So that these centers are known by their work all over the country. The new building of the center will be known as Subhash Chandra Bose Biotech Incubation Center. The building will be constructed by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University at a cost of about 13 crore 50 lakhs.
In the meeting of the governing committee of the Chhattisgarh Biotechnology Promotion Society, the officials of the Agricultural University gave information about the construction of the biotech incubation center and other operations under the Biotechnology Park project. Officials said that to promote biotechnology and innovation in the state, biotech incubation has been established in the first phase of the Biotechnology Park project in partnership with the Government of India and the State Government. Officials said that this center is the first center in central India. The cost of the biotech incubation center is Rs. 30 crores and the cost of building of the center will be Rs. 13 crores 50 thousand. The building will be constructed on the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus in an area of two acres. Its foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on 23 January 2021. Till the construction of the new building, an alternative arrangement has been made for the operation of the center.
In the meeting, various activities of Chhattisgarh Biotechnology Society were discussed in detail and various proposals were approved. On the occasion, in the meeting, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department, Dr. M. Geeta, Principal Secretary of Industries Department, Mr. Manoj Pingua, Commissioner of Agricultural Production, Mr. Amrit Khalkho, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, Mr. S.K. Patil, Vice-Chancellor of Ravi Shankar University, Professor Keshari Lal Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Vasudev Chandrakar Kamadhenu University, representatives of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, senior officials of the Department of Finance, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture and Biotechnology were present.
