In this context, information was received on 7th February that the room number 12 RF of Bitkula Beat of Sothi Circle under Forest Zone Bilaspur. A wild animal leopard is lying in a dead condition in the drain of Ghanakchar forest. As soon as the information was received, Chief Forest Conservator of Forest Circle Bilaspur, Mr. Navid Shujauddin (IFS), Forest Divisional Officer of Bilaspur, Mr. Kumar Nishant (IFS), Mr. Sunil Kumar (R.V.S.) As per the instructions of senior officers, as it was evening on 7th February, the forest workers were kept under the protection of the dead leopard. According to the statement of both the above persons, 3 persons involved in the crime, Vijram Patel (aka Bhakachand) father Lachhi Ram Patel age 58 years address Nirantu Post-Nirantu, Police Station-Sipat District Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Samaru (alias Sanjay) Dhanuhar father Lati Ram Dhanuhar age 35 years address Chhindpani, District Korba (Chhattisgarh), Phool Singh Yadav father Manjru Yadav age 70 years address was found to be of Nirantu Post-Nirantu, Police Station- Sipat, District-Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). Wildlife leopard was hunted by these accused and wild animal leopard nail 01 nos, tooth 2 nos, sharp world 01 nos arrow 10 nos, bow 1 nos, GI wire noose 5 bundle = 2.500 kg, hoe 01 nos, steel tiffin with blood 01 nos, wooden peg used for hunting 09 nos, Thirteen nos. of foil covered with blood was confiscated. By the accused Nandkumar Patel, 01 nos of wild animal leopard and 02 pieces of leopard’s teeth were filled in polythene and kept hidden in water 30 feet deep inside the well located in the bari of his house, which was kept by the investigation team by applying motor pump to the water of the well. The wild life remains were taken out after being evacuated and according to forest crime case number 7463/15, on February 7 under Sections 2, 9,39 50 and 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, presented in the Honorable Court of Bilaspur on 12 February 2022. Which was admitted to the Central Jail Bilaspur on 14 days judicial remand.
Simultaneously during this action two other persons Baldev Singh Wald Anjeer Singh, Jati God Sakin Andarali Police Station Sipat District-Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Rahas Ram Patel Caste Marar Wald Sohnu Patel Age 30 Years Address Nirantu Thana-Sipat, Tehsil Masturi, District-Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) was also found in his house after hunting wild boar Schedule-3 animal and the remains of wild boar were also recovered from his house, which were separately forested under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. According to crime numbers 7463/16 and 7463/17, after registering on 11th February, it was submitted to the honorable court in Bilaspur and was lodged in jail as per the order.
