Raipur, 11 March 2021. In the special presence of Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey, Industries Minister Kavasi Lakhma, a food park to be built at a cost of Rs 12 crore in village Barhapur of Dhamdha block of Durg district was duly performed today. This food park will be built on an area of 22 acres. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that the food processing unit to be set up here will be provided with basic facilities like electricity, water, roads, drainage along with all kinds of rebates, grants and concessions as per the industrial policy of Chhattisgarh state. He also talked about the allotment of land in Barhapur Food Park to two units producing fish food and seed in the first phase. The companies that make fish food and seed are Vishwanath Agrotech and Nature Wall Biotech.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that two more units of seed grading unit, food processing unit will be established. Here the processing unit of banana, papaya, vegetable and tomato will also be started soon. He said that efforts are also being made to set up a sugarcane processing unit here so that the farmers of the area can get benefit. Industry Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma said on the occasion that despite the epidemic like Corona, the pace of progress has not reduced. The new industrial policy of Chhattisgarh state has created a positive environment for the establishment of industrial businesses in the state. He said that ethanol plants would also be set up in the state soon. Describing the establishment of a food park in Barhapur, he said that it would be beneficial for the farmers of the region that it would help the vegetables of the region, Fruits and other agricultural products will get better prices. The economic condition of the farmers will be better. He also talked about the construction of the necessary infrastructure for the food park at the earliest. A large number of rural people’s regional representatives and officers were present on this occasion.
