Raipur : ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’-Chief Minister Baghel met delegation of farmers hailing from Tamil Nadu

“Farmer-friendly government of Chhattisgarh is exemplary for the whole country”, says the delegation

Raipur, 07 December 2022, A delegation of farmers hailing from Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister at Gariyaband Circuit House late on Tuesday. The delegation comprising 14 farmers presented saplings of coconut trees and five varieties of organic paddy to the Chief Minister.

Delegation head Shri Sundar Vimal said that 14 members of the Kaveri River Farmers’ Production Organization of Thanjavur have come to meet him after getting impressed by the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government. He said that farmers in Chhattisgarh are getting the maximum benefit from paddy procurement. This is exemplary for the whole country and should be implemented in Tamil Nadu as well. He said that the state government of Chhattisgarh is farmer friendly and is continuously working for the upliftment of the farmers. Along with this, farmers are being given bonus amounts per acre through Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, making farmers prosperous.

While interacting with the farmers, Shri Baghel welcomed all to Chhattisgarh. He said that minor forest produce, sugarcane, and millets are being procured by the government at better prices. The government is making every possible effort to give the farmers a fair price for their hard work. Apart from this, the villagers are becoming self-reliant through organic farming under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Besides, nearly 21 lakh quintals of cow dung has also been procured, due to which the people are getting double benefits.

MLA Shri Amitesh Shukla and Chief Minister’s Special Secretary Shri Ankit Anand expressed gratitude towards the farmers.
