Health facilities are rapidly reaching rural areas of Chhattisgarh, especially in hilly and inaccessible areas. The health department staff is providing better health facilities through Haat Bazar clinics. One lakh 44 thousand 962 hot market clinics have been organized in the rural areas of the state. More than 82 lakh patients have got direct benefit from these events. Along with treatment, people are getting free medicines and pathology facilities in the clinics being organized by the health department in the hot markets. Under the scheme, people are being treated in remote areas through 429 dedicated branding vehicles and medical teams in the state.

Haat Bazaar Clinic

Chhattisgarh government’s flagship scheme Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojana is benefitting people living in Bastar-Surguja and other inaccessible and inaccessible areas of the state. While on the one hand this scheme is continuously monitoring the nutrition of women and children, on the other hand the malaria eradication campaign in Bastar has gained momentum. This scheme is also proving effective for checking the nutritional level of women and children and prevention of malnutrition in these areas.

Under the Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazar Clinic Yojana, so far 23 lakh 13 thousand 461 people have been tested for high blood pressure, 19 lakh 88 thousand 675 people have diabetes, six lakh 19 thousand 015 people have been tested for malaria, four lakh 73 thousand 560 people have been tested for blood pressure. Anemia and eye disorders have been screened in two lakh 90 thousand 047 people. In these clinics, TB tests of 58 thousand 681 people, leprosy tests of 31 thousand 700 people and HIV tests of 45 thousand 640 people have also been done. During this, ANC test of one lakh four thousand 273 pregnant women has also been done. Two lakh two thousand 371 diarrhea victims have also been treated in clinics organized in haat-bazaars. So far 11 lakh 34 thousand 708 people have been treated in Bastar division. 

Changed picture of Pakhnar village

The picture of Paknar village under Darbha block of Bastar district is changing. This village situated on the hills of Dilmili was once Naxalite affected. But now everything has changed here. Basic needs like roads, electricity, water and health facilities are being met here. Dr. Duleshwar Dani, who arrived for treatment at Pakhnar’s Haat-Bazar Clinic, said that with this scheme, pregnant mothers and infants are examined and vaccinated, infectious and non-infectious diseases are diagnosed, eye diseases, malnutrition, skin diseases, diabetes, TV, high blood pressure. And advice related to family planning is being given. 

Local language experts are in the health team 

Dr. Dani told that the villagers do not have to go to the city for minor diseases and their tests. Appropriate health counseling is given during the checkup. Apart from this, there is also an ambulance facility which is used for emergency like situation. To provide health facilities to the people in Bastar region, the help of doctors and paramedical staff who know the local language is being taken. Mrs. Lodi of Katenar, who has a shop in the market itself, told that she is getting the benefit of Haat-Bazar clinic. She goes to the Haat-Bazar clinic to get her BP checked. Medicines are also given to them free of cost. In such areas, quality healthcare is being delivered to people’s doorsteps by a team of specialist doctors.
