Now thousands of consumers of Bhilai township will also get the benefit of half electricity bill scheme of the state government. The Energy Department of the state government issued its order today. Earlier, the consumers residing in the township of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) did not get the benefit of this scheme , because BSP management supplies electricity to them. For a long time the consumers there were demanding exemption under the Half Electricity Bill Scheme.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. TS Singhdev have given this gift to BSP personnel. It is worth noting that all the domestic consumers of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited have to pay half of the bill amount calculated on the basis of effective electricity rates on electricity consumed up to 40042.82 lakh consumers are getting the benefit of this scheme implemented from February 20193900 crore has been provided so far . Now 27 thousand domestic consumers of BSP area will also get its benefit.
The order issued states that
BSP All domestic consumers in the distribution licensee area are given a concession of 50 percent of the total payable amount towards fixed charge ,400
This scheme will be effective from 01 September 2023 till further orders. Advance payment of an amount equivalent to the concession to the consumers as reimbursement by the State Government. S.P. will be done through the budget. B.S.P. to make provision for concession amount in the budget. The appropriate proposal will be made available to the Energy Department from time to time , on the basis of which budget provision will be made by the state government.
