Under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN), 15 BC Sakhis who did excellent work in the field of digital finance and provided banking services in remote areas were honored today. 12 bankers who did excellent work in the process of Dual Authentication started by banks to encourage digital transactions in self-help groups were also honoured. BC Sakhis and Bankers were honored at a Digital Madai organized at a private hotel in Raipur today by CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, the technical support agency for digital finance. A booklet based on the success stories of BC Sakhis was also released in the programme. 

Sunita Sahu of Dhamtari district, Priyanka Sahu of Raipur, Rania Kumari of Korea and Ritu Srivas and Mamta Patel of Rajnandgaon district were honored as BC Sakhi in the Digital Madai program. Sunita Kumari of BC Sakhi Koriya district, Sangeeta Khalkho of Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Pushpa Bai of Kanker, Khemeshwari Tiwari of Gariaband and Nemika Patel of Raigarh, who did the most transactions to provide banking services to the local people, were also awarded in the digital Madai. . Neelam Sahu of Raipur district, Sangeeta Bhaskar of Kabirdham, Nageshwari Sinha of Rajnandgaon, Kalavati Rathiya of Raigarh and Tara Sahu of Durg, who provided maximum services to the villagers as BC Sakhi, were also honored. These BC Sakhis also shared their work experiences in the programme.

Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Prasanna R. Addressing the Digital Madai, he said that a target has been set to eliminate multidimensional poverty in the entire world by the year 2030. Financial inclusion is essential to eradicate poverty. Multidimensional poverty has decreased as a result of continuously increasing financial inclusion in Chhattisgarh. Modern technologies have made it easy. BC Sakhis in the state are using these to provide banking facilities in remote areas. Praising the work of BC Sakhis, he said that the problems being faced in this work in remote areas should also be resolved. Shri Prasanna said that banks are doing good work for financial inclusion and they are getting support. CSC is also getting good cooperation in this. The efficiency of their work has also increased.

Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN), Mrs. Padmini Bhoi Sahu, congratulated the CAC and BIHAN team for the achievement of BC Sakhis in the programme. He said that after completing the household responsibilities, women are also going out and working. Along with providing banking services in remote areas, BC Sakhis are also increasing their own income. He told that currently 3790 BC Sakhis are working in the state. Chhattisgarh and Odisha Head of CSC, Shri Madan Mohan Raut said in his address that CSC is bringing change in the lives of people by providing technical assistance. CSC is working with 74 thousand self-help groups here for financial inclusion. More than 150 BC Sakhis in the state are earning more than six thousand rupees every month.

Digital Madai was founded by Mr. I.K., Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gramin Bank. Gohil, Director of Institutional Finance, Mrs. Sheetal Saraswat Verma and Nodal Officer of Digital Finance in the State Rural Livelihood Mission, Mr. Vikesh Aggarwal also addressed. He highlighted the contribution of BC Sakhis in providing banking services in unbanked areas and encouraged them. The works of BC Sakhis who did excellent work were also shared through video films in Digital Madai. Joint Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission Shri R.K. Jha, Shri Chandraprakash Patre, CSC’s Shri Jai Narayan Patel, Manish Shukla, Vikas Tiwari and District Program Managers from various districts of SRLM were also present in the program.
