Women’s group of Halba Kachora village of Bastar earned 32 thousand rupees from the stall in three days
Raipur, 04 November 2022; The ‘Bastariya Bhaat’ stall set up in the Rajyotsava is attracting people towards itself. The demand for dishes related to tribal culture is increasing continuously.
Mrs. Mangli Baghel, Mrs. Madhuri Devangan, Mrs. Chanda Devangan of Jai Bajrang Mahila Self Help Group, who came from village Halba Kachora of Bastar, told that in three days in Rajyotsava, they have earned more than 32 thousand from their stall Bastariya Bhaat. People are very fond of eating the Bastaria being served by them. The demand for Mahua Laddu is so high that our stock has run out. We have Mahua tea in Bastaria Thali along with dishes like Bhaat, Cheela, Aamut, Basta Sabzi, Madia Page, Bobo, Chaur Bhaja, Chapoda Chutney, Tikhoor Barfi.
He told that the demand for Chapda i.e. red ant chutney is high in Bastar area of Chhattisgarh. Tribals believe that eating red ant chutney does not cause diseases like malaria and dengue. The red ant is in great demand in the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh due to its medicinal properties. Chapada is made from the same ants who make their shelter on the sweet fruit tree like mango. Tribals say that they have learned to eat Chapda from their heritage. Chapda lovers buy it a lot in the weekly market held in Bastar.

Aam-Amat is a traditional vegetable made in Bastar. Whose taste is amazing. It is a mixture of vegetables in a vegetable. Oatmeal is made without oil. People like Basta as a medicinal vegetable, so the demand is high.
Gur Bobo-Gur Bobo is very popular in Bastar. Gur Bobo means Gur means jaggery and Bobo means Bhajiya. This Bobo is made from flour and jaggery. Bobo is used in social events like birth rites, marriage, death rites and traditional Teej festival.
