Raipur, 27 August 2020. Bastar Commissioner Shri Amrit Khalkho and IG Shri Sundararaj P. arrived on Thursday to visit the flood affected areas of Sukma District Headquarters. He reviewed the flood affected area in Jhapra, Kumharras, NH 30 bypass and ward number 13 Shabari Nagar and discussed the situation with the affected people. During this, Collector Shri Chandan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Shri Shalabh Sinha and other officers were also with him. Commissioner of Sukma Municipality, Mr. Raju Sahu and Vice-President Mrs. Ayesha Hussain, in front of the Commissioner and IG, reached to meet the flood affected people in Shabri Nagar, situated on Shabri coast, Commissioner of demand letter for making retaining wall in ward numbers 3, 6, 11, 12 and 13 Handed over to him, on which he said to approve soon. During this period, the flood affected people of Shabri Nagar praised the work of the district and urban administration. The affected said that during the flood, all possible help was provided by Collector Chandan Kumar and his team, better arrangements were made in the relief camp. After this, the commissioner and IG reached the Kovid Center (Nava Abhiyan) in the Kumharras area of Sukma and discussed with the center in-charge. Information is being taken about the efforts being made to prevent Kovid infection in the center.
The commissioner and IG along with district administration officials had reached Ramaram to observe the development work of Ramaram temple at Sukma, one of the major sites of Ram Van Gamaan Path. At that time, because of not having a network in the village, the children studying under the tree got their eye, they went to the children and discussed with them, on which the children told that their online classes are going on under the education gate, they come here like this everyday Let’s study. Seeing this kind of ardor in children for education in Naxal area, the commissioner and other officials including IG were overwhelmed. In Sukma stay, the commissioner Mr. Khalkho and IG Mr. Sundararaj honored 51 officers and employees of the district force and Municipal Army who did excellent work during the floods in Tunga Dame, Sukma’s main tourist center.
