Balodabazar-Bhatapara District Hospital has once again been issued the National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate. Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has congratulated the hospital for this achievement. For this certificate, a three-day test of the services being provided in the hospital was conducted by a national level testing team. This team included Dr. Subrajyoti Rao from Bhubaneswar, Dr. Rupendra Kumar from Lucknow and Ritu Nair from Delhi who inspected 15 departments of the hospital very closely and made markings. After the test, the district hospital finally met the said standards and the certificate was issued. National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate, also known as NQAS, is an evaluation system started by the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of India to check the quality of services being provided in hospitals. Getting the said certificate by an institution reveals the improving facility.
Under this NQAS in the district hospital, 8 areas of 15 departments like IPD, OPD, Emergency, Maternity, Labor, Pharmacy, Blood Bank, Radiology, Lab, OT, SNCU etc. were inspected. These include areas like service system, patient rights, input, support service, clinical service, infection control and outcome. Along with NQAS, the district hospital has also received the certificate of target achievement which is set for maternal and child health. According to the CMHO, the team that came for inspection has praised some departments of the hospital like Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) and Emergency the most. It is worth noting that the district hospital has already received this certificate for this earlier. The new certificate reveals that there is continuity in quality services here.
