Three cases of child marriage were prevented due to the prompt action of the District Administration Balodabazar-Bhatapara. On the instructions of Collector Deepak Soni, the team formed under the leadership of District Program Officer T. Jatwar and District Child Protection Officer Prakash Das took action in the villages of Odan, Mudpar and Kosamandi of Palari development block and stopped the marriages of three minors. This team also included officials from the District Child Protection Unit, Integrated Child Development Project Palari and Police Department. The district administration has appealed to the public that if they get information about the marriage of minor children anywhere, they should immediately inform the administration or child helpline, so that appropriate action can be taken in time.
According to the information received, the marriage of a 19-year-old boy was about to take place in village Odan of Palari development block, which was stopped in time. The administration stopped the marriage of a 20-year-old minor boy in Mudpar. At the same time, the marriage of a girl aged 17 years and 9 months was stopped in village Kosamandi, who was below the minimum age for legal marriage.
