The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the purchase of paddy with the rice millers for two consecutive days.
With the beginning of procurement of paddy from farmers at support price in Chhattisgarh, the off-take of paddy from the committees has also started. On the third day itself, the lifting of paddy has started from committees in Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh, Jashpur, Surajpur, Mahasamund and Surguja districts.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had instructed the officers that there should be no jam in the committees and the work of lifting of paddy should also be started along with the purchase. For the convenience of the farmers, he had instructed the senior officers including the Chief Secretary to regularly monitor the arrangements for the procurement of paddy for the convenience of the farmers.

In the same vein, the Chief Minister, in a joint meeting of officials of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Rice Millers Association and Food Department officials for two consecutive days on 30 November and 01 December, purchased paddy in the state on support price and reviewed the preparations for custom milling of paddy. He asked the rice millers to expedite the lifting and milling work of paddy from the committees and also to take special care to the rice millers on the supply of gunny bags.
With the commencement of paddy procurement in the state from December 1, senior officials including Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain have reached the paddy procurement centers and started monitoring the arrangements there. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, the lifting of paddy has started within three days of the first procurement. The officers have also been directed to ensure that the paddy after lifting goes to the rice mills for custom milling and not to the collection centres, so that the procurement of paddy continues smoothly.
Shri Baghel increased the incentive amount to Rs 120 per quintal for rice millers for systematic custom milling under the system of procurement of paddy at support price in the Kharif marketing year 2021-22 in the state and for custom milling on the request of rice millers in the state. Instructions were given to the officers to start the system of registration immediately. He also directed the officers to take effective steps to solve the various problems of the rice millers. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the work of lifting of paddy has started.
