Raipur, 4 December 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Archaeological District Museum in Jashpur today. In the Archaeological District Museum, the tradition and lifestyle of the tribes of Jashpur district are displayed lively through the model of craft paintings, sculptures, residence sites, houses. Due to which the beliefs, art-culture, local tribes and tribal society here You will get information about lifestyle. During the inspection of the museum, the Chief Minister reviewed the artefacts displayed here and appreciated the rare collection of the museum. He inquired in detail about the museum from the authorities. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel saw the stone conch (stone flute) kept there. He said that this museum will become a major means of saving the archaeological heritage of the district. The stone flute placed in this museum is found in Khar Katta village of Pathalgaon Tehsil of Jashpur. Stone flute is made of stone. Out of it comes the sound of a conch. This stone float has a hole in the middle which is man-made. On one side of this flute there is a rectangular hole and on the other side there is a triangular hole. Mr. Ropan Agariya and Mr. Sukhram Agariya presented the mandar to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at the museum. The Chief Minister accepted this meeting and
Archaeological Museum – The unique and attractive archaeological museum in the district itself has been built by the District Administration Jashpur at a cost of 25 lakh 85 thousand from the District Mineral Justice Fund. The museum will benefit the students from nearby Jashpur district. Also regional characteristics will be recognized. This museum will prove to be very useful for saving and preserving archaeological and historical heritage. Daily use items traditionally used in the museum by the 13 tribes of the district, Birhor, Pahari Korwa tribe, Oraon, Nagesia, Kavanar, Gond, Khairwar, Munda, Khadia, Bhuihar, Agharia etc. which are not currently in circulation He has been exhibited in the museum. Prehistoric objects of the district have been stored in the museum, which include rock paintings from the Palaeolithic, Middle Stone Age, Stone Tools, Stone tools from the Neolithic period are displayed. The museum also exhibits historical objects of Jashpur district such as temple photographs, coins, pottery pieces, dekis of Korwa tribe, jewelery, three-bow, cherry, tawa, doti, haraka, sword, bricks, manuscript etc. Here the old items of the tribes which are now in the verge of extinction have also been displayed.
