Raipur, 08 January 2024
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam has given instructions to postpone the appointment process of assistant professors in Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University, Sankara (Patan). It is noteworthy that in Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University, Sankara, Patan, the students had complained to the Agriculture Minister about the faulty, illegal recruitment process and irregularities in the formation of the Board of Management, on which prompt action was taken and the appointment process was stopped. Has been postponed.
There has been a complaint of major irregularities in the score card prepared for the recruitment of 35 posts of Assistant Professor in Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University, Patan. According to the guidelines of the University Grants Commission, separate marks were to be given for PhD and NET examination, which was not done. For this reason, despite a large number of PhD candidates being available, non-PhD candidates were selected and appointed.
The students said in their complaint that a faulty process was also adopted in the formation of the selection committee for assistant professors. Interview marks were given by the Registrar in the selection committee of the university, but the Registrar was stopped from giving marks in the selection of some candidates. Besides, the constitution of the Board of Management approving the appointments of assistant professors was also flawed.
The nominated persons and experts were not in accordance with the University Act. Due to this, eligible and PhD degree candidates of Chhattisgarh state were given less marks in the interview and candidates from other states were appointed. Apart from these facts, other facts were also given in the complaint letter, on which a decision was taken by the State Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam to form a three-member committee to investigate the entire recruitment process within seven days and take further action as per the rules.
