Raipur, 20 July 2021. The State Sports Award is awarded every year by the Chhattisgarh Government Sports and Youth Welfare Department by giving sports awards to the players, coaches and judges. These awards are given to the sportspersons, coaches, judges who have performed outstandingly for the state. For this, applications have been invited by the department till 7 August. Applications can be submitted to the District Office or Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare Department with the recommendation from the State Sports Federations within the official time period till the prescribed date. Under the State Sports Award, such players of senior category will be decorated with the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, who have won a medal in the National Championship or in the National Games or have represented the country in an authorized international competition. Similarly, those players of junior category will be decorated with Shaheed Koshal Yadav award, who have won a medal in the national championship of junior category. Players who have represented Chhattisgarh in senior category national championship four times in the last 5 years, women and men players are honored with Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman.
The coaches, judges will be decorated with Veer Hanuman Singh Award. The age of 55 years or more related to the sport has participated in international sports competition or won a medal in national competition or the concerned has rendered any notable service in the field of sports on the basis of which they may be considered for the award, He will be decorated with the Shaheed Vinod Choubey Award. Similarly, the Chief Minister’s Trophy is given to the team that won the National Competition Medal in Senior and Junior category. The rules of the award have been published in the Chhattisgarh Gazette, the applicants who are eligible under the rules will be selected on the basis of merit for the award.

Similarly, for diet money, players who have received medals in the authorized state level competition last year or have represented in the national competition, can apply for sports scholarship. The maximum age of sportsperson should not exceed 19 years. For the incentives from the sports federations, for the achievement achieved by them in the year 2019 and 2020 (April 1 to March 31 for two years), the applications of the Prerna Nidhi can be submitted to the district office or the Directorate by the prescribed date.
The application form for the award, cash amount, Khelvritti Prerna Nidhi can be obtained from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare or all the district offices and state sports associations of the department. The applications of Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Award will be received through the associations as per the rules and through the prescribed procedure along with the recommendation of the State Sports Federations. Sports federations will be able to recommend the names of 2 players each year on the basis of preference for two awards (one female, one male player) separately. Applications for Pankaj Vikram Award will not be accepted directly from the players in the Directorate and District Office.
According to the provisions in the award rules, the players who have not been recommended for the award by the recognized association and their achievement is comparatively high, then such players will submit the details thereof, writing their personal details in the prescribed format on 07 August 2021.
