Craft design will be taught for four years at the Indian Institute of Crafts, Jaipur

The state government has taken a special initiative to provide design and technical education to the children of craft and artisans of the state. For the better future of the children of artisans, education has been imparted in 04-year degree course (Bachelor of Design) under Design and Technical Development Education Scheme at Indian Institute of Crafts, Jaipur. For the academic session 2023-24, applications have been invited from the children of artisans till February 24 for admission in degree courses.
Officials of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board said that it is mandatory to pass class 12th for admission in Craft Design and Technical Development Education in Indian Crafts Institute. Minimum age should be 18 years and maximum age should be 25 years. For admission in design education course by the Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board, registration of the child’s parents in the Board or Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) for 05 years. Identity card of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi is also mandatory. Children of artisans selected for craft design education will be provided financial and other facilities as per provision in the scheme.
Officials have said that the main objective of the graduate course in craft and design education is to make craftsmen self-reliant by providing complete knowledge in craft design. The children of artisans can give employment to other artisans of the state while doing their own business. Interested candidates can submit the information in the prescribed application form of the Handicrafts Development Board to the office of the Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board located in the district by the last date. .
