Raipur, 2 December 2020. Today another star is set in the glory of Bhilai. The vision of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is the pride, honor and pride of this Bhilai city all over the world. This series of IITs started by Pandit Nehru has reached Bhilai. Bhilai is the twenty-third IIT of the country. This is our pride. This was stated by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on the occasion of Bhumi Pujan of IIT Bhilai’s educational area corridor and superstructure installation program of various buildings.
The Chief Minister first laid a brick on the super structure at the venue. It is part of the brick taking ceremony. After this, the Chief Minister unveiled the rock plaque and 3D model from the venue. On this occasion, detailed information was given regarding the design of the first phase of the IITs. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that research in Chhattisgarh will be encouraged through IITs, which will be very useful for iron based industries here. He said that we are going to work on paddy based ethanol industry in Chhattisgarh. If there is any research on its cast cutting in IIT, it will be very useful for this industry. He said that IITs should develop such research models for agro-based states like Chhattisgarh. He hoped that the construction of the IIT campus would be completed by 2022 and the institute would be useful in every sense.
The Chief Minister said that technology changes life in many ways, earlier aluminum was a very expensive item, now it is accessible. Electronic watches used to be very expensive, now it is very cheap. New possibilities of development will also be created in Chhattisgarh through IITs. On this occasion, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that Nehru ji gave the gift of Bhilai Steel Plant to our state. This opened the way for rapid development. New possibilities of development will open in Chhattisgarh through IIT Bhilai.
On this occasion, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that due to the policies of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the economy of Chhattisgarh remained strong even during the Corona period. This institute will provide the best platform to our talented students. Director of IIT Shri Rajat Moona gave detailed information about the characteristics of the institute. He informed that 18 lecture halls and class rooms will be built in the first phase. Library and ITIL buildings and Observatory towers will also be built along with Engineering and Science Department.
