Raipur: Annual action plan of the state’s reading and writing campaign presented to the Central Board of Approval: Aim to literate one third of the state’s insecure in five years

    Raipur, 22 October 2020. A reading and writing campaign focusing on basic literacy will also be conducted in Chhattisgarh. The annual action plan of the reading and writing campaign of Chhattisgarh was presented in the online meeting of the Project Approval Board held under the chairmanship of Smt Anita Karwal, Secretary, Department of School Education Literacy, Union Ministry of Education. The annual action plan submitted for approval will be conducted in all districts of Chhattisgarh state. In the remaining time this year, two and a half lakh illiterates will be literate and in the next five years, a third of the state’s literates are targeted to be literate.
    On behalf of the State of Chhattisgarh, Mr. D. Rahul Venkat, Director and Member Secretary, State Literacy Mission, presented the action plan for the reading and writing campaign. Under this campaign, priority will be given to the aspirational districts of the state, Naxalite affected districts, national and below average literacy rates of the state. Innovative activities will be encouraged in the campaign.
    It is worth mentioning that the Director of the State Educational Research and Training Council and the State Literacy Mission Authority,  D. Rahul Venkat, read and write on 19th October last week by meeting online meeting of the District Education Officers, District Project Officers of Literacy and Diet Principals. While providing information about the campaign, a proposal for action plan was called from them.
