Large-scale tree plantation has been targeted in the state. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to make arrangements for plant safety after plantation. Plantation will be done along the state’s Anganwadi centers, Ram Van Gaman Path, vacant government land, schools, Gauthan complexes along the banks of ponds and roads.

The target is to plant more than nine lakh saplings in the state’s Janjgir-Champa district alone. According to the information received from the district administration, on July 06, a large tree plantation program will be organized simultaneously in different places of the district. The Collector has instructed the concerned departments including Panchayat, Horticulture, Silk and Agriculture to make preparations for it. After receiving the saplings from all the concerned department nurseries, pits, irrigation arrangements, water and safety arrangements are being ensured at selected places. Apart from this, people are also being provided plants for planting at home. Plants of Munga, Papaya, Sitaphal, Gulmohar, Kadam etc. will be planted in the schools with fire. Apart from this, plantation will also be done as per the forest movement path, road, canal, pond crossing, Gothan, road side. Special attention is also being given to soil compatibility, irrigation and security system in plantation. According to the compatibility of the land, plants with medicinal properties will also be planted on priority. Goraunda and hardworking plants will be planted in the fencing of Gothan. After the plant grows, gooseberry fruit and mehndi powder will also become sources of income of the Gauthan Committee. Deputy Director Agriculture said that under the National Bamboo Mission, this year the target of planting 45 thousand 750 saplings in the periphery of the farmers’ fields, of which more than 16 thousand bamboo saplings have been planted.
