Instructions have been given by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection to supply kerosene under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ration cards having gas connections in non-scheduled areas. It is worth noting that out of the kerosene allocation received from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi for the second quarter of the year 2023-24, 2,172 kiloliters of kerosene is appropriate for the month of August 2023 for ration cards and hawkers prevailing under the Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act. Price shop wise online allotment has been issued. These include 2123 kiloliters for PDS and 49 kiloliters for Hawkers. A letter to this effect has been sent by the Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection to all the collectors and state level coordinators of the oil industry.
In the letter issued by the Food Department, it has been said that all Antyodaya and priority ration cards prevalent under PDS will be eligible. Maximum 2 liters of kerosene will be eligible for ration card holders of urban areas and maximum 3 liters for ration card holders of scheduled areas under rural areas and maximum 2 liters for ration card holders of non-scheduled areas.
The district wise kerosene allocation for the month of August is as follows. Allocation of 96 kiloliters of kerosene has been issued for Bastar district. Similarly, 24 kiloliters for Bijapur district, 36 kiloliters for Dantewada district, 84 kiloliters for Kanker district, 72 kiloliters for Kondagaon district, 24 kiloliters for Narayanpur district, 36 kiloliters for Sukma district, 60 kiloliters for Bilaspur district. , 24 KL for Gaurla-Pedra-Marwahi district, 96 KL for Janjgir-Champa district, 96 KL for Korba district, 48 KL for Mungeli district, 72 KL for Raigarh district, 72 KL for Balod district, Bemetara 84 KL for district, 24 KL for Durg district, 96 KL for Kawardha district, 48 KL for Rajnandgaon district, 120 KL for Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 60 KL for Dhamtari district, 72 KL for Gariaband district, 72 KL for Mahasamund district for 96 kiloliters,
