Cooperatives flourished in the state, banking activity should increase in the field of cooperatives, for this the number of cooperative bank branches and primary agricultural credit cooperatives have been increased, while buying paddy on support price, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, agricultural loans. Along with distribution, Godhan Nyay Yojana has also been linked to the cooperative sector. Now Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana is also being linked with the cooperative sector. purchase of minor forest produce, The cooperative sector has got a boost due to the purchase of Kodo-Kutki and Ragi on support price. Chief Minister Shri Baghel expressed his views to this effect while virtual inaugurating the new branch of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank at Kunkuri in Jashpur district and Lailunga in Raigad district in a program organized at his residence office here today.
On this occasion, Cooperation Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Apex Bank Chairman Mr. Baijnath Chandrakar were present at the Chief Minister’s residence. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the program said that the payment of the fourth installment of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana to the farmers would be done on March 31. Along with this, the amount will also be paid to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana on the last day of the financial year. The Chief Minister said that opening of new branches of Apex Bank at Lailunga and Kunkuri would save time and money of farmers, villagers and tribal brothers and sisters of the region.
The hardness of the land will decrease and the quality of the crop will be good. Vermi compost will also have to be used to improve soil health. With this service to mother cow will also be served to mother earth. He said that last year the problem of shortage of chemical fertilizers was in the whole country. In Chhattisgarh, about 8 lakh quintals of vermi compost prepared from cow dung purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana in our Gauthans were distributed to farmers through cooperatives. Due to this, the farmers of Chhattisgarh could not face shortage of fertilizers. Raw materials for the production of chemical fertilizers are imported from abroad. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, there may be a shortage of chemical fertilizers this year as well. So we have to prepare in advance to deal with this problem. The Chief Minister said that farmers and livestock farmers should sell more and more cow dung in Gauthans, so that more vermi compost can be produced and vermi compost can be made available to the farmers.
Cooperation Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said in the program that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, new branches were started in Lailunga and Kunkuri today. An amount of about Rs 80 crore has been paid to the farmers of Lailunga area this year. The farmers of this area had to go to Pathalgaon earlier to get the payment, but now the payment will be received from Lailunga branch only. The farmers of this area will also be able to get banking facility easily from the branch of Kunkuri. Farmers will also get the facility of mobile banking, Rupay KCC, ATM and fund transfer in the new branches. He said that for the convenience of the farmers, the primary agricultural credit cooperative societies have been increased from one thousand 337 to 2058 in the state. This made it easier for the farmers to pay.
Presiding over the program, Apex Bank President Baijnath Chandrakar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the business of Apex Bank has increased by Rs. This year the bank has earned a net profit of Rs.28 crores. He informed that loans worth Rs 5261 crore of 13.46 lakh farmers were waived from cooperative banks. This year, loans worth Rs 5425 crore have been disbursed to 13.20 lakh farmers. He informed that apart from Chhattisgarh State Co-operative Bank, there are 6 District Co-operative Central Banks operating in the state, with which 2058 Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Societies are affiliated. There are 27.42 lakh farmer members of these cooperative societies, out of which 16. Kisan Credit Cards have been issued to 67 lakh farmers. Co-operative banks have 305 branches operating in the state. 33 branches of co-operative banks have been increased in the last three years.
