The seven-day All India Kalidas ceremony concluded with the chief hospitality of Governor Ms. Uikey.

Expressing one’s thoughts regarding the work of the great poet Kalidas is like showing a lamp to the sun. It is due to the inclusion of natural beauty and human sensibilities in his works and imagination that he got respect and recognition at the world level. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey said the above things while addressing the concluding program of the All India Kalidas Samaroh organized at Ujjain with the blessings of the chief guest. In the function, Governor Ms. Uike honored the winners of National Kalidas Painting and Sculpture Competition and various competitions organized by Vikram University by giving them citations.
Before attending the closing ceremony, the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ms. Uikey, garlanded the statue of the great poet Kalidas. Along with this, the National Exhibition of paintings and sculptures animated from Kalidasa’s work Vikramorvashiyam was visited. At the beginning of the program, Dr. Santosh Pandya, Director-in-Charge of Kalidas Sanskrit Academy presented the report of various programs organized under Kalidas Samaroh-2022.
The Governor started his address with the greetings of the enlightened people present in the festival from the fields of literature, art, theatre, dance and music. He said that the historic All India Kalidas Samaroh is being organized continuously since the year 1958. Over the last seven decades, this festival has done a unique job of preserving, promoting Indian art and culture and giving a platform and respect to the country’s unique talents.
The Governor said that the great poet Kalidas will always be remembered as a strong pillar of India’s cultural richness and creative world. There have been many great poets in the cultural tradition of this Aryavarta, but such poets are negligible, who have given expression to the cultural consciousness of the nation, Kalidas is one of them. He said that the great poet Kalidas has done the work of raising the beauty of India’s history of thousands of years from the ground and establishing it in the horizon and giving it a powerful voice. Ujjaini means Ujjain historically religion, spirituality, culture, art, It has been a major center of literature and commerce. Governor Ms. Uikey in her address further said that Ujjain is the abode of the ghostly God Baba Mahakal. It is the school of Shri Krishna and Balarama. Simhastha Kumbh is organized every twelve years on this holy land. This is the reason that even in the works of the great poet Kalidas, a succinct description of the grandeur of contemporary Ujjain is found. A beautiful description of the buildings, markets and residents of Ujjayini is found in his masterpiece Meghdoot. He has described Ujjain as a shining piece of heaven.
Governor Ms. Uike said that all the artists gave their best performance in this event dedicated to the great poet Kalidas on the holy holy land of Ujjain. I believe that all of you are fortunate to have been able to participate in this event. Coming to Ujjain is like reaching in the presence of spiritual peace and divinity of God.
The Governor said that such a wonderful event is possible only in this historic city, whose light will shine in the whole world. Art students and art lovers as well as the general public must have been acquainted with the great poet Kalidas and the cultural pride of India. The Governor urged the future generations to do the work of preserving and expanding the cultural tradition of India with commitment.
Governor Ms. Uike further said that the best in Indian culture and civilization has been mentioned in the literature of Kalidas. His works have been able to describe powerful and great characters. Along with this, he also bowed to Pandit Suryanarayan Vyas, who was the architect of starting this wonderful event.
Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Culture Minister Ms. Usha Thakur also addressed the function and greeted Governor Ms. Uikey for her presence. The Governor thanked the Culture Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh for organizing the function grandly. People’s representatives and artists including Ramanujkot Peethadheeshwar Swami Ranganathacharya, MP Mr. Anil Firojia, MLA Mr. Paras Jain, MLA Mr. Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Vice Chancellor of Vikram University, Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey were present in the program.
