Active role of youth in protecting child rights

Tejkunwar Netam, Chairperson of the State Child Rights Protection Commission, has said that youth have an important and active role in protecting child rights. He also drew attention to de-addiction, mobile addiction and many other contemporary issues and appealed the students to follow the ideal traditions of the Indian society. She was addressing an awareness program called Ahawan on protection of child rights on Thursday in the auditorium of Amity University Raipur.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Piyush Kant Pandey said that the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is working with great awareness in the field of protection of child rights. He appealed to the students to understand the child rights and work in the best interest of the children. The Secretary of the Commission Mr. Prateek Khare provided information on the importance of child rights, maintaining a rights based approach and the rights of children and prevailing laws. He also told the students how to talk to children and develop their decision making, confidence etc.
A large number of students including Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Piyush Kant Pandey and Commission member Smt. Pushpa Patle participated in the program as special guests. The program on Child Rights was organized by the Department of Languages, Fashion and Psychology of the University. The Department of Law, Media and Communication actively participated in the programme. In the program, the university has shown its commitment to do better work in the field of child rights. University’s Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Surendra Rahmatkar, Prof. in the program. Dr. Bodhisattva Acharya Director Department of Law, Prof. Dr. Indrani Singh Rai and other faculty members were present.
