Raipur: Action taken against hospitals misusing Ayushman card

Action taken against 48 hospitals, fine imposed against 11 hospitals

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a very ambitious scheme for the common people, under which free health services are being provided to all eligible beneficiaries. For their financial benefit, many hospitals are violating the rules and misusing the rights of patients (Ayushman Card) and misleading the government. For this reason, for the smooth implementation of this ambitious scheme of the government, the Chhattisgarh government is continuously taking action against the hospitals working against the rules, under which action has been taken against a total of 48 hospitals so far in the year 2024.

After investigating the complaints received against these 48 hospitals, fines have been imposed against 11 hospitals and the registration of 1 hospital has been de-empaneled. Complaints were received against these hospitals regarding taking extra cash from beneficiaries even after treatment with Ayushman card, unnecessarily admitting patients under the scheme against the rules for financial gain and illegally performing uterus operations under the scheme. 

Action taken against these hospitals:
For working against the rules, Jai Tulsi Multi Speciality Hospital, Rajnandgaon has been fined Rs 15 thousand, Shri Arogyaam Hospital has been fined Rs 11 lakh 41 thousand and Ankur Hospital, Raipur has been fined Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand, Maa Yashoda Hospital, District-Gariaband has been fined Rs 6 lakh 60 thousand, Shri Ram Hospital Jhalap, Mahasamund has been fined Rs 11 lakh 41 thousand, Ashoka Hospital, Raipur has been fined Rs 31 lakh 60 thousand, Omkar Hospital Bilaspur has been fined Rs 1 lakh 82 thousand, Sai Samarth Hospital, Raipur has been fined Rs 4 lakh 25 thousand, CIMT Hospital, Raipur has been fined Rs 11 lakh 8 thousand, Care and Cure Hospital, Bilaspur has been fined Rs 12 lakh 74 thousand 900 and Sparsh Multi Speciality Hospital, Durg has been fined Rs 24 lakh 44 thousand 700.

Out of 48 hospitals, action is under process on the clarifications received from the remaining 33 hospitals to which show cause notices were issued. Action will be taken as per rules soon on the basis of the clarifications received.
