Under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program, an intensive TB and leprosy search campaign was launched in the state in two phases to eradicate TB disease. In the first phase Mitanins went door-to-door and prepared a list of potential patients on the basis of symptoms of TB and leprosy. Monitoring of the work being done by Mitanins and on the basis of the list prepared by them, the male health workers of the concerned area were to visit the patients’ homes again and test them. Along with this, if the identified and suspected patients of TB and leprosy could not go to the nearest health center for examination, samples were to be collected from the homes of such patients and sent to the nearest DMC or testing center so that those patients could be tested quickly and confirmed. Medicine can be started after registering on it.
