Raipur: Action on 9 rice millers who were negligent in custom milling

During physical verification, 2.05 lakh quintals of paddy were seized when the quantity was found to be less after matching with the online report.

Action is being taken against 9 rice millers who were negligent in depositing the custom milling rice of Gaurela Pendra Marwahi district in the Food Corporation of India and Civil Supplies Corporation on time as per rules. District Food Officer Mrs. Shweta Aggarwal said that physical verification was done in rice mills by a joint team of Tehsildar, Cooperative Extension Officer, Food Inspectors and Markfed officials. A total of 2 lakh 5 thousand 229.20 quintals of paddy was seized after matching the quantity of paddy found in physical verification with the online report and found less. The Food Officer told that Messrs. J.P. The quantity of paddy and rice was matched in the physical verification at the rice mill of Agarwal Sons Cold Storage Pvt Ltd Ajni Gorela. According to the online report, 20041.20 quintals of paddy was seized as the stock of paddy and rice was not found.
Similarly, 18650 quintals of paddy was seized in the rice mill of M/s JP Aggarwal Agrotech Anjani Gorela, when the quantity of paddy and rice was found to be less than compared with the online report. 38892 quintals of paddy in the rice mill of Messrs. Garg Food Products Gorela, 33292 quintals of paddy in the rice mill of Messrs. Maa Narmada Agrotech Gorela, 74210 quintals of paddy in the rice mill of Messrs. Maa Narmada Rice Products Gorela, 74210 quintals of paddy in the rice mill of Messrs. Shree Lakshmi Agro Industries Pendra 11493 quintal paddy, 2965.60 quintal paddy in Rice Mill of M/s Daksh Foodstries Pendra, 640 quintal paddy in Rice Mill of M/s Shivani Traders Pendra and M/s Buaji Firms Pvt. Ltd. in Rice Mill, Pendra 7044. 80 quintal paddy was seized. Due to reduction in the quantity of paddy, action has been taken to confiscate the quantity of paddy physically found in the mill by Tehsildar Gourla and Pendra. The food officer told that the record of paddy and rice has not been maintained by the rice millers. Also, monthly returns have not been provided by the rice millers to the Food Department. Action is being taken to confiscate the seized paddy and to blacklist the millers by filing a case in the collector’s court for violating the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Custom Milling Rice procurement against all the concerned rice millers.
