Raipur, 23 January 2022. In the first meeting of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that youth should be prepared for employment, training them and making them proficient in various trades as per the demand of industries and market. He said that production should be done according to the market demand in the Rural Industrial Park established in rural areas. To enhance the quality and certification of these products, cooperation of higher technical institutions located in Chhattisgarh should be taken. He said that a better eco-system should be created for new startups, so that youth can get better employment opportunities.
In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel at his residence office today, detailed discussions were held regarding the nature and functioning of the employment mission. He directed to work expeditiously towards the creation of new employment opportunities and to review the work of the Employment Mission regularly. It is worth mentioning that with the aim of creating 12 to 15 lakh new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh in the next five years, the state government has constituted Chhattisgarh Employment Mission.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the state level office of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission in the capital Raipur through video conferencing on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary. At the beginning of the program, Chief Minister Shri Baghel paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by paying floral tributes to him. On this occasion, Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister and Working President of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission Mr. Umesh Patel, Chief Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission Mr. Amitabh Jain were present along with senior officials.
Chief Minister gave IIT, IIM, Triple IIT. and N.I.T. Suggestions were also taken from the directors regarding employment generation. He said that higher educational institutions should come forward for certification and standardization of products from rural areas of Chhattisgarh. He urged these institutions to cooperate in bringing new startups as well as reputed companies of the country to Chhattisgarh. With the coming of these companies, good opportunities will be created for the highly educated youth of Chhattisgarh in the state itself.
The Chief Minister said that according to the needs of local industries, youth should be trained in various trades and their skills should be upgraded, so that youth can be easily employed in industries. Similarly, in the areas where new industries are to be set up, before setting up of industries, the youth of that area should be surveyed and upgraded according to their educational qualification and the needs of the upcoming industries. So that local youth can get employment in these industries. He said that survey of youth would be done through collectors in the areas where new industries are to be set up. According to their educational qualification, arrangements will be made for training of youth in various trades like ITI, Livelihood College etc.
The Chief Minister also asked the officers to conduct a survey in the markets of urban areas to see which products are well consumed. On the basis of the survey, such products should be produced in the Rural Industrial Park being developed in Gauthan. To be supplied by taking orders from the shops. Local people should be involved in this work. Mr. Baghel said that the portal prepared earlier should be reactivated so that people doing small jobs like plumbers, electricians, carpenters can get employment easily. There is a huge demand for these works in urban areas. People do not get people for these things.
Principal Secretary Skill Development, Technical Education, Employment and Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission, Dr. Alok Shukla gave a presentation on Chhattisgarh Employment Mission in the meeting. He informed that employment opportunities have been created on a large scale in Chhattisgarh due to the progress of agriculture sector, rural industrial park in Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana, collection and value addition of minor forest produce. A large number of people have also got employment in government and private sector. As a result of which the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh has come down to just 2.1 percent.
Dr. Shukla informed that Chhattisgarh Employment Mission, various departments related to employment, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Forest, Industry, Village Industries, Urban Administration, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Skill Development Program, Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana , will coordinate between the Bari Scheme and the works of the Tea-Coffee Board. He said that the mission would work towards creating better employment opportunities by collaborating with private companies, branding and marketing in the employment oriented training, service and manufacturing sectors. Along with encouraging research on better products and services of Chhattisgarh through the mission, it will help in creating a better eco-system for startups. It was also informed during the presentation that eco-tourism, adventure tourism, home-stay, food processing, forestry, etc. to create new employment opportunities.
