Approval of the scheme by the Department of Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment : criteria and conditions were issued

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has announced unemployment allowance at the rate of Rs. 2500 per month to the educated unemployed of the state from April 1, 2023. In this regard, an order has been issued by the Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department approving the scheme. Director Employment and Training Chhattisgarh Raipur said that according to the criteria and conditions set for unemployment allowance, the applicant must be a native of Chhattisgarh to get unemployment allowance. 
    Educated unemployed must be between 18 to 35 years of age. He should have minimum Higher Secondary (12th) pass from recognized board. He should be registered in the District Employment and Self-Employment Guidance Center and his employment registration should be at least two years old in Higher Secondary or above qualification as on 1st April of the year of application. The applicant should not have any source of income and the annual income of the applicant’s family from all sources should not exceed Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand. Family means- husband, wife and dependent children and dependent parents.
    Unemployment allowance will be given to the eligible educated youth firstly for one year. If the person does not get gainful employment in this period of one year, then the period of unemployment allowance can be extended for one more year. This period shall not exceed two years in any case.
     Unemployment allowance will be given to only one person from a family. If unemployment allowance has been approved to any person in a family, then the other person will be ineligible. Such applicant will be ineligible for unemployment allowance if any member of the applicant’s family has a job other than Class IV or Group D in any Central or State Government organization or local body. If the applicant is offered self-employment or any job in government or private sector, but the applicant does not accept the offer, then such applicant will be ineligible for unemployment allowance. 
    Family members of former and present ministers, state ministers and former or present members of Parliament or state legislatures, former and present mayors of municipal corporations and former and present chairpersons of district panchayats will be ineligible for unemployment allowance. Family members of pensioners receiving monthly pension of Rs.10,000/- or more will be ineligible for unemployment allowance. Those families who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year, their family members will be ineligible for unemployment allowance. Other professionals such as engineers, doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants and family members of architects registered with professional bodies will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
    The amount of unemployment allowance will be transferred every month to the bank account of the eligible beneficiary. Skill development training will be offered to all those people who will be granted unemployment allowance. After the skill development training, they will be helped to get employment and if they refuse to participate in the skill development training or do not accept the employment offered, their unemployment allowance will be stopped.
