The supervisor informed them about the loan scheme before the government through Mahila Jagriti Camp. Under this scheme, an amount of 80 thousand rupees was sanctioned to Mrs. Uike for opening a vegetable shop. With the help of the amount received, he started a business in Dantewada on a handkerchief and weekly hot market. This is earning him a good income. Today, she is living a respectable life by becoming self-reliant in the society while nursing herself and her five-member family. Expressing gratitude to the Government of Chhattisgarh for this help, Mrs. Sunita has described this scheme as a boon for the needy women.
The main objective of “Saksham Yojana”, an ambitious scheme under the Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh in the direction of women’s self-reliance, is women, widows, unmarried or legally locked women aged 35 to 45 living below the poverty line in the state. And women who are living in crisis-prone situations based on certificates issued by the gram panchayat or social institution. They have to provide financially self-reliant and socially respectable, self-reliant and prosperous life opportunities by providing loans to start their own business. Through this scheme, loans up to Rs 1 lakh at the rate of 6-50 per cent simple interest are sanctioned for easy installments for 5 classes.
