Youth, children and elders are taking training with enthusiasm in Aakar-2023, a training camp on traditional arts organized by the Culture Department. More than 400 trainees are receiving training in different disciplines in the training camp. In training, orphans and disabled children are also being given free training in these disciplines. This training will give people an opportunity to become self-reliant through self-employment.

It may be noted that every year training camps are being organized by the state government with the aim of preserving, promoting, spreading awareness and creating interest among the people in traditional crafts and arts. This year also, the ‘Traditional Craft and Various Art Training Camp Aakar-2023’ has started from May 01 at the Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum Complex, Civil Line, Raipur. The training program will continue till May 19.

     Officials of the Culture Department said that since the year 2005, the department is running Aakar training program. Training camps are also being organized in all the divisional headquarters of the state, in which children, elders and youth are participating in the training program with enthusiasm.

Officials told the registered participants in ‘Aakar-2023’, Mural Art, Papermaking, Clay Art, Wood, Bamboo Craft and Sculpture, Painting, Madhubani Art, Patachitra, Paddy Jewellery, Dry Flower, Glass Painting, Tattoo Art, Para Art, Terracotta , Rajwar Bhatti, Classical Dance, Drama, Folk Dance, Jute Craft, Mehndi Art, Gobar Art, Warli Art, Pichhwai Art, Sand Art, Mandala Art, Mandana Art, Gond Art, Soura Art, Sketch Painting, Canvas Painting, Bonsai Art Training is being imparted in disciplines like musical instruments making and training. Artifacts and materials made by the trainees will be displayed in the campus on the concluding day after the training and certificates will also be distributed to the participants.
