Raipur, 29 October 2020. A new phase of prosperity has started in the villages of Suraji village scheme of Chhattisgarh government. The rural economy has gained momentum from the Gothans of Suraji Yojana, while rural farmers are moving towards economic prosperity by taking advantage of Bari Development Program, an important component of this scheme.
The Bari Development Program in the border district of Balrampur in the state has helped improve the economic condition of the farmers. By taking advantage of the Bari Development Program, progressive farmer from village Chalagali of Shankargarh development block, Mohammad Kalil Ansari, is using tomatoes to produce tomatoes in Bari using advanced farming practices. Mohammad Kalil Ansari attributes the success of his tomato cultivation with his hard work to the state-funded nutrition scheme Bari. Mohammad Kalil Ansari states that he has about 2 acres of fence. He used to do farming in the traditional way earlier. Due to lack of advanced technology and knowledge of agriculture, production was so low that it was difficult to manage the expenses of the family. On getting information about Bari Development Program under Suraji Yojana, he approached the Horticulture Department to increase his agricultural income. Horticulture officials advised him to do advanced farming. With the help of Horticulture Department, it was decided to take tomato crop by participating in the Nutrition Bari Scheme. Mohammad Kalil Ansari cultivated tomatoes in 1.5 acres of garden in his Bari under the nutrition and guidance scheme of Horticulture Department. Improved farming method and good care led to the production of tomato crop. Apart from selling tomatoes from 700 to 900 rupees per carat in the nearby vegetable market, traders of tomatoes produced by them from Ambikapur, Daltonganj, Garhwa are also buying cash in their farm. Mohammad Kalil Ansari has earned a profit of 2 lakh 80 thousand rupees from tomato cultivation. This income of tomato cultivation has spread a smile on the face of Kalil Ansari. Inspired by Mohammad Kalil Ansari, farmers in the surrounding villages have started adopting horticultural crops. Traders of Garhwa are also buying cash in their enclosure. Mohammad Kalil Ansari has earned a profit of 2 lakh 80 thousand rupees from tomato cultivation. This income of tomato cultivation has spread a smile on the face of Kalil Ansari. Inspired by Mohammad Kalil Ansari, farmers in the surrounding villages have started adopting horticultural crops.
