Farmers of remote areas are being given the benefit of Saur Sujala Yojana. Farmers are increasing their income by taking two crops. Saur Sujala Yojana is proving better to make the farmers financially prosperous and to strengthen the rural economy in the state. Irrigation facilities are being provided to farmers by providing solar pumps, and this benefit is given to those farmers who have water sources like rivers, ponds, Well and borewell are already available. It is being implemented in the state by the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency. In this regard, the official of the CREDA department said that 9143 farmers of the district have been given the benefit of the Saur Sujala Yojana. Due to which crops are flourishing in the fields of farmers even in remote areas. Now farmers do not have to depend on rain water. Farmers are now producing more than two crops and greens by taking advantage of the scheme. Due to the good crop of the farmers, their income is increasing.
Mr. Banarasi Mehta, a farmer of Chandanpur village of Ramchandrapur development block of Balrampur district, says that he has 1.5 acres of cultivable land, on which he has installed a solar pump for irrigation with the help of CREDA department after mining tubewells. At present paddy and greens are being produced by Mr. Mehta. He told that after the installation of solar pump, he is taking advantage of double crop. Due to which their income is increasing.
In the year 2023-24, a solar pump of 03 HP capacity was installed by farmer Mr. Sukumar of Krishna Nagar village of Balrampur development block. He has about 1.5 acres of agricultural land. They say that due to delay in rains this year, the work of transplanting paddy was not being done. But due to the installation of solar pump, the work of transplanting paddy was done at the right time. He told that now apart from paddy, he is also producing greens and vegetables.
With the help of Saur Sujala Yojana, today the farmers of the district are producing Rabi and Kharif crops as well as greens and vegetables without any hassle. All types of agriculture, vegetable production and other works are being done smoothly due to the end of the water problem with the Saur Sujala Yojana. Farmers are also taking vegetable crops along with paddy, due to which they are getting additional profit.
Mrs. Ashamuni, a farmer of Kotarki village of Balrampur block, told that earlier Kharif crops used to grow easily, but due to water problem, there was difficulty in harvesting Rabi crops. There used to be a problem of electricity at the last moment, but now with the installation of solar pumps, the problem of electricity bills has ended. Now they are able to take both Kharif and Rabi crops very easily and this has increased their income.
The official of the CREDA department said that at present the district has achieved the target of installing 1500 pumps under the Saur Sujala Yojana. For which the interested farmer should submit his Aadhaar card, Khasra of land, acreage and verified map of work site, photocopy of caste certificate and demand draft of application fee (according to pump) Rs.03 thousand for 03 HP and Rs.4800 for 05 HP and installation You can take advantage of the scheme by contacting your Rural Agriculture Extension Officer, CREDA or Deputy Director Agriculture Office along with photographs of the site, passbook photocopy.
