Raipur: 70 lakh ration card holders applied online for renewal

As per the instructions of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, renewal of ration cards prevalent in the state and e-KYC of ration card holders is being done. E-KYC of ration card holders of all categories of ration cards of the state, Antyodaya, Priority, Single Destitute, Disabled and APL scheme and renewal of ration cards have been made mandatory by 30 June 2024. According to the information received from the Food Department, e-KYC is mandatory for renewal of ration card. At present, there are about 77 lakh ration card beneficiaries in the state. So far, renewal of a total of 70 lakh ration card holders has been done.

    Bijapur district is on the first position in the work of renewal. Out of the total 71,368 beneficiaries, 71,145 beneficiaries have got their ration cards renewed, Narayanpur district is on the second position, out of 36,167 beneficiaries, 35,831 beneficiaries have got their ration cards renewed, similarly Sukma district is on the third position, out of 78752 beneficiaries, about 78 thousand beneficiaries have got their ration cards renewed.

    According to the information received from the department, a new mobile app of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has been prepared by the Food Department for ration card renewal, it can be downloaded from the Play Store. The renewal work can be done by the beneficiary by downloading it from the Food Department’s website http://khadya.cg.nic.in. The beneficiary can also go to the fair price shop and get his renewal and e-KYC done through online.

    For e-KYC, the biometric of every beneficiary must be updated. Members who have Bal Aadhaar will first have to get their biometric updated from the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. After this, e-KYC can be done from the e-POS machine of the fair price shop. The facility of e-KYC and renewal in ration card is free.
