Raipur, 15 March 2021. As part of the campaign being run by the Department of Forest and Climate Change, today, 7 pieces of wood worth 82 thousand rupees were chanted in the village Pachgharia (Beller) of the forest area of Birgudi under Dhamtari forest division. Intensive investigation is going on under the forest division by the team constituted under the guidance of Smt. Satovisha Samajdar, Forest Officer, Dhamtari. In this connection, the Forest Department team caught the wood kept in the field after illegal harvesting during the investigation. Cases have been registered against the accused Asaram Gond under the Forest Offenses Act. The confiscated wood has been deposited in the government prison town. The said wood was illegally harvested by the accused and kept in a nearby field.
