Raipur: 6 lakhs of logs and chiran seized from 4 saw mills in Dhamtari forest division

As per the instructions of the Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, the Forest Department is continuing a continuous campaign for the prevention of forest offenses including illegal timber harvesting and transportation in the state. In this connection, based on the information received by the forest department team during night patrolling on 30th day of the previous day, 4 saw mills were razed under Dhamtari forest division in the morning and there were 493 pieces of Arjun Latta and 6 thousand 717 pieces of Arjun wood. Stringent action is being taken against the tax accused. The value of the said wood seized by the Forest Department team has been estimated at around Rs 6 lakh.
