Union Water Power Minister  Shekhawat reviewed the works of Water Life Mission through video conferencing

Raipur, 13 March 2021.  Water life mission has started in all 28 districts of Chhattisgarh state through the District Water and Sanitation Mission at the district level. So far, 5 lakh 66 thousand domestic tap connections have been provided in the state. Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudrakumar gave this information in a video conferencing organized by the Union Ministry of Water Power. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat reviewed the progress of water life mission in various states including Chhattisgarh. He expressed satisfaction with the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in Chhattisgarh.

In video conferencing, Minister Guru Rudrakumar informed that more than one thousand online tenders have been invited so far. The process of providing domestic tap connections through two thousand 700 solar pumps has been ensured in tribal, inaccessible and remote areas and so far 5 lakh 66 thousand domestic tap connections have been provided in the state. Public awareness campaign is being run in all 28 districts through Jal Jeevan Mission Rath. He asked the Union Minister to extend the period of running water supply in the school, Anganwadi from March 31, 2021 to June 2021, keeping in view the geographical conditions of the state and inaccessible hilly areas. Similarly, the period of retro fitting works was also requested to be extended from 31 March 2021.
