Raipur: 4.35 crore awards to be given on World Toilet Day

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Singhdev to award winners of “State Cleanliness Award-2020”

Raipur. 12 November 2020. The winners of the “State Sanitation Award-2020” will be given awards on World Toilet Day on November 19. The Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Shri TS Singhdev will award the winning participants in the award ceremony organized through video conference on this day. Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) will distribute prizes worth Rs. 40 crore 35 lakh to the selected winners in 18 different categories.
It is noteworthy that entries were invited for various competitions under the “State Cleanliness Award-2020″ by the Swachh Bharat Mission from 25 July to 2 October 2020. In this competition organized in total 18 categories, more than three thousand institutions and individuals Participated. Outstanding entries received from all the districts of the state have been verified through state level independent agency and winners of different categories have been selected. The
competition was organized in these categories
Swachh Sundar Toilet Award by Swachh Bharat Mission under Swachh Bharat Mission, Swachh Sundar Community Toilet Award, Outstanding Segregation Shed Award, Gram Panchayat Award with MHM (Menstrual Hygiene Management), Outstanding Essay Creation Competition, Outstanding Slogan Writing Competition, Wall Writing Competition, Plastic Free Gram Panchayat Award, Outstanding Swachhagrahi Group Award, Outstanding Biogas Plant Award, Outstanding Community Toilet (Disability Pilot Project), Outstanding Drawing-Design Competition for Community Toilet, Outstanding Drawing-Design of Segregation Shed Competition, How to keep the village clean – Best Working Plan, Suggestion of Innovation in relation to Rural Sanitation, Gram Panchayat ODF Sustainability Award, Development Block ODF Sustainability Award and District ODF.Entries were invited for the sustainability award.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev ” Has thanked all the participants for taking part in the State Sanitation Award-2020 ”. He congratulated the state unit of Swachh Bharat Mission on organizing these awards for ODF sustainability and to make people aware and motivated about cleanliness, and said that good work is being done continuously in the state in the field of cleanliness. Chhattisgarh has received the second prize on October 2 this year for the most ODF plus villages under the Dirt-Free India Campaign of the Union Water Power Ministry. Mr. Singhdev said that Chhattisgarh has been one of the leading states of the country in the implementation of Phase-1 of Swachh Bharat Mission. Chhattisgarh received a performance grant of Rs 174 crore in 2018 and 2019 by the World Bank for outstanding performance in the field of cleanliness. This year also, the state has been given a performance grant of Rs 68 crore by the World Bank.
