Raipur: 4.34 Crore Prizes for Promoting Cleanliness in Villages: Swachh Bharat Mission will give awards in 15 categories under State Cleanliness Award-2020

Raipur. 24 July 2020.Four crore 34 lakhs will be given prizes by the State Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) to promote cleanliness in the villages. The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will award Gram Panchayats and participants selected for these awards on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev today announced the awards to be given in 15 categories under the State Sanitation Award-2020. On this occasion, he said that these awards are being given in the open defecation villages to maintain its stability, community participation and inspire good hygiene habits among the people. Different classes of people doing different kinds of good work at different levels will be rewarded for promoting cleanliness.

Mr. Singhdev said that healthy competition for these awards among the participants will help bring about long-term changes in sanitation habits and behavior in rural areas. It will also help in bringing awareness of solid and liquid waste management, plastic waste management and menstrual hygiene among women and adolescent girls. He said that Chhattisgarh is the leading state in the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission. This encouragement by the Mission will create awareness among the villagers to achieve and maintain an excellent state of cleanliness. Prizes will be distributed to selected winners on 2 October on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Under the Swachhta Swachhta Puraskar -2020, a winner of Swachh Sundar Toilet Award will be given a prize of Rs 5001. For this, ten-ten beneficiaries will be selected at the district level. * Swachh Sundar Community Toilet Awards * will be given at district and state level. 21 thousand rupees will be given to district level winning gram panchayat and one lakh rupees to state level winning panchayat. One lakh rupees will be given to the selected gram panchayat for excellent segregation shed at the state level. Winners will be selected in two categories for menstrual hygiene management. The winner of the district level panchayat will be awarded 21 thousand rupees and the state level winner 51 thousand rupees.

Excellent essay creation competition will be organized through schools to bring awareness among students about cleanliness. Pre-Secondary and High School at the district level, the winners of both the sections of this competition organized in two different classes will be awarded first, second and third prizes of Rs 21 thousand, Rs 11 thousand and Rs five thousand respectively. Three winners of the excellent slogan writing competition organized at the district level will be given prize money of Rs 21 thousand, Rs 11 thousand and Rs five thousand. Under the * wall writing competition *, at the district level, ten best writings by the participants of Swachhagrahi or Self Help Group will be given a prize of Rs. 5000 each.

Plastic-free gram panchayats will be awarded at the district and state levels. A prize of Rs 21 thousand will be given to the district level winner and Rs 1 lakh to the state level winner. Out of the self-help groups working under the Swachh Bharat Mission, a prize money of Rs 21 thousand will be given to the district level winner of the Outstanding Swachhagrahi Group Award and Rs 51 thousand to the state level winner. 51 thousand rupees will be given to the Gram Panchayat, winner of the excellent biogas plant award at the state level. SECL The three best gram panchayats will be awarded with a prize of Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively under the pilot project of community toilets for differently abled persons with assistance of Rs.

Awards will be given in three categories under the excellent drawing-design competition of community toilets. In this state level competition, an award of Rs 51 thousand will be given to every architect or engineer who presented an excellent drawing-design of community toilets costing Rs 3.5 lakh, Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh. Three winners who have created excellent drawing-design of the Segregation shed will be given prizes of 21 thousand rupees, 11 thousand rupees and five thousand rupees respectively at the state level. Three persons, who have suggested the best working plan for making the village clean, will be given prizes of 21 thousand rupees, 11 thousand rupees and five thousand rupees respectively. Similarly, the three participants who suggested the best innovation in relation to rural sanitation will be given prizes of 21 thousand rupees, 11 thousand rupees and five thousand rupees respectively.

Along with these competitive awards, one district of the state will be given a cleanliness sustainability award of Rs one crore, three development blocks for Rs 50-50 lakh and five gram panchayats with Rs 20 lakh each. Applications for these awards will be taken from July 30. The last date for submission of entry is 15 August. Entries can be sent in the prescribed format through the respective Janpad Panchayat along with the application and photo.
