Raipur, 02 October 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the path of Gandhiji’s village Suraj is the path of Chhattisgarh government. Our government is working to make villages, farmers, villagers, labourers, women and youth self-reliant. Many schemes have been started to bring about a change in the condition of the village and the villagers. There are many schemes including loan waiver of farmers, purchase of paddy on support price, distribution of food grains to vulnerable families through universal PDS, through which direct help is being given to the people.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel was addressing a huge Kisan Sammelan at Basic School Ground, Bemetara today. He said that people have got employment through livelihood oriented activities in the Gauthans set up in the villages. They have started getting extra income. Referring to the Godhan Nyay scheme of the Chhattisgarh government, he said that people used to make fun of it in the initial phase of buying cow dung, today they have seen how important is the cow dung. Organic manure is being made from cow dung in our Gauthans, which has given a boost to organic farming in the state. Now we are going to generate electricity from cow dung. Our women of the village will do the work of generating electricity and sell it. We are developing Gauthans as Rural Industrial Hub. Here many products will be prepared from the resources available in rural areas. The management of its marketing will be the responsibility of the administration.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed bhoomi pujan of development and construction works costing Rs 503 crore in Bemetara district and congratulated everyone. He also distributed grant-in-aid of Rs 8.94 lakh to 20 beneficiaries and sewing machines, sprayers and tricycles to 25 beneficiaries under various schemes of the government. In the Chief Minister’s program, buildings constructed by Rural Engineering Services Department at a cost of Rs 2.07 crore, Anicut cum Causeway including 9 irrigation projects constructed by Water Resources Department at a cost of 31.06 crore, 12 public buildings constructed by Panchayat and Rural Development Department at a cost of Rs 72.50 lakh. Dedicated 16 roads, culverts and buildings constructed by the Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 34.75 crore. Under the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel program, 449 works of public convenience and development were performed by various departments.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated Deokar in Bemetara district, Bhimbori as Tehsil and Maro as Sub Tehsil, Polytechnic College at Than Khamharia, Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Saja, Upgradation of Health Center of Parpodi and Saja into Community Center, Deorbija and Nandghat. announced the opening of the college. The Chief Minister decided to make Beard a Nagar Panchayat, to start Sub-Treasury and Girls Post Matric Hostel in Nawagarh, to rename Saja’s Agriculture College after Late Kumari Devi Choubey, Bemetara’s Agricultural College after former MLA Late Dr. Chetan Verma. Announced the construction of auditorium in Bemetara and one crore rupees to the Bemetara municipality and 50-50 lakh rupees to the city panchayats of the district for development works.
Addressing the Kisan Sammelan, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the schemes run under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel have brought prosperity to all sections. By providing direct help to the farmers and villagers, the market and business remained vibrant in Chhattisgarh even during the Corona period. He said that Rs 12,000 crore has been approved for the construction of roads in the state. At present, approval for road construction is being given at a cost of Rs.5000 crores. He said that there is a plan to complete the construction and repair work of all the roads in the state in the next two years. He also assured that the work of repair and construction of roads in Bemetara district will be done on priority.
Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that in three and a half years, Bhupesh Baghel’s government has directly transferred an amount of 85 thousand crore rupees to the farmers’ accounts. He said that despite the non-cooperation of the Central Government and the adverse situation of corona infection, the Chief Minister is fulfilling every promise he made to the people of Chhattisgarh. He said that on one hand the central government is auctioning public assets, While the Chhattisgarh government is working to make people self-reliant and villages strong and self-reliant. Last year, an assistance of Rs 5750 crore was given to the farmers through the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. 5702 crore help is being given this year. He said that due to the farmer friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government, there has been an increase in the production and the number of farmers. In the last kharif, a record purchase of 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was done in the state. He said that the condition of the crop is good. Procurement of 1 crore 5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated this year. On this occasion, mentioning other welfare schemes of the Chhattisgarh government, he raised the demands for the development of Bemetara district.
Parliamentary Secretary Shri Gurudayal Banjare and MLA Ashish Chhabra also addressed the program and said that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel is fulfilling Gandhiji’s dream by completing the works of upliftment of village and villagers. He placed many demands for development and construction in relation to the development of Bemetara and Nawagarh region and urged Chief Minister Mr. Baghel to fulfill them. In the beginning of the program, Collector Shri Bhoskar Vilas Sandipan gave a welcome address. The program started with garlanding and lighting of lamp on the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, famous bhajan singer Prabhanjay Chaturvedi presented Gandhiji’s favorite bhajan. At the venue, the women of Public Health Engineering, Agriculture, Women and Child Development Department, Swachh Bharat Mission, Fisheries, Livestock, Horticulture and Panchayat and Rural Departments.
