Chhattisgarh ranked fifth in the country in providing 100 days of employment to job card holders
Raipur. 10 March 2021. In Chhattisgarh, under the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), 29 lakh 81 thousand families employed this year have been provided an average of 52 days of employment per family. The national average in this case is 48 days. Several large states with more population in giving average employment per family to families participating in Chhattisgarh MNREGA works this year Uttar Pradesh (40 days), Telangana (48 days), Tamil Nadu (46 days), Andhra Pradesh (50 days), Bihar (42 Day), ahead of Gujarat (41 days), Jharkhand (44 days), Karnataka (46 days) and Maharashtra (38 days).
In the current financial year 2020-21, more than 100 days of work has been provided to 4 lakh 16 thousand 956 families in the state. In this case, Chhattisgarh ranks fifth in the entire country. Of this, only Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are ahead of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh alone accounts for more than eight percent of the 100-day employment households across the country.
Each family working under MGNREGA in the state received an average of 70 days in Bijapur district, 69 days in Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi, 65 in Dantewada, 62 in Kanker, 60 in Jashpur, Gariaband and 59-59 days in Sukma, this year. 58-58 in Bilaspur and Korea, 57 in Rajnandgaon, 56 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 55-55 in Kabirdham and Narayanpur, 53-53 in Balod and Dhamtari, 52 in Mungeli, 51 in Durg and 50-50 days in Raipur and Kondagaon. Work has been provided.
