An aim towards disbursement of loan worth 4 thousand 600 crore Rs to farmers this year
Disbursement of additional 1183 crores rupees more to farmers compared to last year
5.88 lakh quintals of improved varieties of high quality certified seeds stored for farmers
Raipur, June 27, 2020. Â Bhupesh Baghel led state government has always led a special emphasis towards farmer’s interests. This time, the State Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has provided interest-free agricultural loans via cooperative societies to promote farming in the state, and to ensure the availability of fertilizers, seeds and other agricultural inputs to farmers at the right time. This year, a target of disbursing loans worth 4 thousand 600 crore Rs to the farmers of the state has been set in the Kharif season. With reference to the target, interest-free short-term agricultural loans worth 2 thousand 721 crore Rs. has been already disbursed to 7.65 lakh farmers for the current kharif crop season. Whereas last year, agricultural loans worth Rs. one thousand 538 crore was disbursed in the previous year. Thus, an additional loan disbursement amounting to 1183 crore Rs has been made this year, compared to the previous year.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, efficient arrangements have been ensured in cooperative societies for the distribution of loans, fertilizer and seeds to farmers. A target has been set to
store a total of 6.35 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer via cooperatives for Kharif crops. Till 26th June, 5.77 lakh MT of fertilizer has been stored in cooperative societies, which accounts for 90.81 percent of the total target. Cooperative societies have distributed 4.53 lakh tonnes of fertilizer to farmers, which is 71 percent of the set target. Whereas, compared to the last year in the same time period, 2.43 lakh MT of chemical fertilizer was distributed by cooperative societies. This year 2.10 lakh tonnes additional fertilizer has been distributed by cooperative societies.
Seed Corporation has stored 5.88 lakh quintals of certified improved varieties of seeds for the Kharif crop via the cooperative societies. As on June 26th, a total of 4.52 lakh quintals have been lifted by the farmers. Within the same period last year, storage of 4.98 lakh quintals of certified seeds and distribution of 2.88 lakh quintals of certified seeds were ensured for farmers via cooperative societies.
Therefore, with reference to the previous year, additional certified seeds of 1.64 lakh quintals have been distributed more than last year.
In the present year, the State of Chhattisgarh has been sanctioned a special and additional credit limit of Rs 1150 crore by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). With reference to this, Rs 740 crore has been withdrawn by the state cooperative banks. Under the State Government’s Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers’ have witnessed a sudden spurt in their zeal and enthusiasm towards farming with the deposit of Rs 1492 crore Rs. in the account of 18.35 lakh farmers as the first installment.
Even amid COVID-19 pandemic, which has made things rough, The state of Chhattisgarh.has registered an incredible and satisfactory growth in its agricultural sector. Due to timely arrival of monsoon and scheduled arrangement of agricultural inputs, the state has increased the possibility of good production of Kharif crop this year, showing positive signs of further improvement in the economic lives of farmers and rural areas. Along with agriculture department, Cooperatives Department, Registrar Cooperative Societies, Chhattisgarh Managing Directors Marketing Association, and Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank, District Cooperative Central Banks have also played an extremely important role to streamline and speed up the agricultural exchange of cooperatives. A pleasant state has been created in the field of agricultural inputs only by monitoring agricultural inputs on a daily basis at the state level.
