Raipur, 9 February 2021. Two tractors illegally transporting wood were seized at Abhanpur Depot last day in Sub-Zone Abhanpur under Nava Raipur Atal Nagar zone. The market value of the seized wood is about 50 thousand rupees.
Special monitoring of wood thieves is being done by the field staff of Forest Department of Abhanpur under the direction of Forest Officer, Mr. Vishwesh Kumar. Under this campaign, action has been taken under Chhattisgarh Forest Produce Transport Rules by seizing tractor number CG 05C7730 and tractor number CG 05G1002 along with 10 rocks of firewood while transporting illegal timber. The Forest Officer has directed the Deputy Forest Officer and Zonal Officer to constitute a special team to strictly prohibit the illegal transportation and collection of forest produce and regularly check vehicles and rest.
