Newly married couples get gifts under Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana

135 couples tied the knot in a grand mass marriage program organized on April 01 under the joint aegis of District Administration and Women and Child Development Department at Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district headquarters. Local people’s representatives, dignitaries, officers of the district administration also presented gifts to the couples married under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, wishing them a happy life.
In mass marriage, 48 couples of Bharatpur development block of the district, 46 couples of Khadgawan development block and 41 couples of Manendragarh were married according to their customs. In order to bless the newly married bride and groom, in the chief minister’s mass marriage program, MLA of Bharatpur Sonhat Assembly and Vice President of Surguja Development Authority Mr. Gulab Kamaron, MLA of Manendragarh Assembly Dr. Vinay Jaiswal, Municipality President of Municipality Manendragarh Mrs. Prabha Patel, District President Dr. Vinay Shankar Singh, Vice President Mr. Rajesh Sahu, Vice President of Municipality Manendragarh Mr. Krishna Murari Tiwari, Councilors, President of Nagar Panchayat Jhagarakhand Mr. Rajneesh Pandey, District Superintendent of Police Mr. T.R. Cosima, Divisional Forest Officer Forest Division Manendragarh Mr. Patel, Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue Manendragarh Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Tehsildar Manendragarh Mr. Ashok Singh and departmental officers and employees of various departments were present. Clothes, bed sheets, blankets and jewelery were presented as gifts to the newly married couples by various social workers. SECL Hasdev Area Chirmiri Area’s Mahila Mandal Samiti provided fans as a gift to the bride and groom. Saree bedsheets were gifted to the newly brides by the Bombay Collection of Nagar Manendragarh.
