‘Gandhi Gram’ to be developed in Kulgaon of Kanker district for skill-development training.
Raipur, 1 October 2020. Bhumipujan of construction works for establishing ‘Gandhi Gram’ will be done by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on October 2, via video conferecing, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. District Administration and Forest Division Kanker will jointly develop ‘Gandhi Gram’ in Kulgaon of Kanker district. Main objective of this initiative is to accelerate rural development and to provide self-employment opportunities through skill-development. Gandhi Gram will be equipped with accomodation facility for 100 trainees. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel willa also distribute forest land rights certificates on the occasion. Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar will preside over the programme.
It is noteworthy that Gandhi Gram is being developed as skill development training centre, which will be equipped with training room, kitchen and dining area along with the accomodation facility for 100 trainees. This training center will be managed by Van Mitaan Self Help Group of Forest Management Committee Kulgaon. In this training center, skill development training on various subjects, mainly forest produce processing, will be provided. Gandhi Gram will create employment opportunities for localites and will promote small forest produce-based cottage industries and small rural industries.
